All events are by reservation.
“Drop ins” cannot be accommodated.

Visiting the Farm
Your visit at Grand Oak Herb Farm begins here.
We invite all guests to arrive a little early on the day of your event so that each program can begin on time.
If you need directions, are running behind, or have questions about parking, please feel free to give us a call.
When you arrive, stop by our gift shop, where you can ask questions or browse our selection of herbs, products, and carefully curated antiquities.
First time visiting the farm? Not a problem. We are happy to help guide you through the day and make sure you find everything you’re looking for.
Please note: For the 2026 season, the greenhouse opens June 6th and will close late summer.

Policies
Please see our simple guidelines for a smooth visit.
If you register and pay for an event but later find you are unable to attend, please call us at least 48 hours in advance and we will provide a full refund for that event.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate special diets such as vegan or vegetarian meals.
We will do our best to accommodate food allergies, but we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur.

An apothecary garden is a garden filled with plants traditionally used for healing and medicine. These gardens date back to medieval times.
Today, many gardeners grow them because of their interest in natural and organic alternatives. In this class, we will explore the plants used in an apothecary garden and discuss their benefits.

Since ancient times, lavender has been used for many purposes, including mental health support, aromatherapy, anxiety, insomnia, depression, headaches, nausea, skin care, cosmetics, and culinary uses.
Lavender is also known as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiseptic. It is one of the main essential oils many people like to keep in their medicine cabinet for aromatherapy.
Today we will study:
- Growing hardy lavender for our Zone 5 climate
- Essential oils
- Infused oils
Each guest will take home a 4-ounce bottle of lavender, eucalyptus, and vanilla room spray.

Herbal Delights & Scented Geraniums
Today we will study Scented Geraniums (a species in the Pelargonium genus). They are different from the common garden geraniums and date back to 1789.
Scented geraniums have delightful scents and flavors and have long been used in:

- Aromatherapy
We will also discuss edible flowers and their many benefits.

Remedies and cures that were used in the past are quickly being rediscovered today.
In this class we will study eight common plants that many people think of as weeds, but that actually have valuable herbal uses.

This blend of aromatic spices and citrus are simmered on the stovetop. The mixture releases a fragrant scent that fills the house. Each person attending will collect spices and peels to take home. Luxurious and Relaxing Winter Skin Treatments
Winter can be very hard on our skin. In this class we will demonstrate herbal blends that help protect and restore the skin during the colder months.
Demonstrations will include:
• Face moisturizer for aging skin
• Body butter
• Rose-hibiscus hydrating face mist
• Rosemary shampoo for dry, itchy scalp
We will also discuss the benefits of rosemary and echinacea for skin and hair care, and how to make infused oils known for fighting inflammation.

Herbal Mouse Repellent
This may sound like a surprising topic, but it is a very important one.
Several years ago I learned just how dangerous traditional mouse poisons can be to pets, wildlife, and even people.
In this class we will discuss how herbs such as peppermint and cloves can be used as a safer way to discourage mice.
After two years of testing, we have developed a blend that works very well. Each participant will take home a sample.
